Spotlight on ‘Pooling to Paradise’ actor Dreama Walker

Caytha Jentis’ indie comedy Pooling to Paradise will open the 11th Annual Fort Myers Film Festival on Wednesday, May 12. Directed by Roxy Shih, the 85-minute feature touts a stunning ensemble cast that includes stars Taryn Manning (Orange Is the New Black, Hustle & Flow), Jonathan Lipnicki (The Resident, Jerry Maguire), Lynn Chen (Saving Face, Go Back To China), comedian Jordan Carlos (Broad City, Guy Code, Girl Code) and Dreama Walker (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Gran Torino).

Dreama Walker plays the part of Kara, a struggling actress. A Tampa native, Walker graduated from Henry B. Plant High School in 2004. She made her screen debut two years later and broke out in the role of Hazel Williams in 14 episodes of Gossip Girl (CW, 2008-2009) as one of Blair Waldorf’s (Leighton Meester) minions. Dreama has been working steadily in both television and film ever since.

Of note, you can see her as Connie Stevens in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), as Clint Eastwood’s granddaughter Ashley Kowalski in Gran Torino and starring opposite Anne Dowd as Becky in the indie break-out thriller Compliance (2012) that premiered at Sundance. Her other film credits include Becca in the short film Blocks (2020), Emily in the rom-con Paperback (2015), Sara-Beth in the comedy Don’t Worry Baby (2015), Tabby in the TV Movie Cocked (2015), Christine Pelisek in the drama/thriller The Grim Sleeper (2014), Suzi in Chlorine (2013), Abigail in the comedy The Discoverers (2012), Penny in The Kitchen (2012), Tracy in comic horror Vamperifica (2012), Elizabeth in the short film Father/Son, Stephanie in the comedy The Sitter (2011), Rose in the rom-con The Pill (2011), Receptionist in The Invention of Lying (2009), Melinda in the television movie The End of Steve (2008), Megan Bernstein in Lifelines (2008), a cameo as an upper East Side waitress in the 2008 film Sex and the City and Kelsy in Goodbye Baby.

Her television credits include the comedy Don’t Trust the B in Apt 23 (ABC), the CBS drama Doubt (Katherine Heigl, Laverne Cox, Elliott Gould), a recurring role on The Good Wife (CBS) and Real Rita in American Horror Story (FX). Walker has also been featured in guest starring roles on American Dad (TBS), A to Z (NBC), New Girl (FOX), and Law & Order and  Law & Order: SVU (NBC).

Her other television appearance include the role of Meredith in the TV mini-series Oh Jerome, No (2019), Meredith in Cake (2019), two episodes of See Plum Run (2018), Whitney in four episodes of Brockmire (2018), Heather in Man with a Plan (2018), Julia in Adam Ruins Everything (2017), Jules Louden in Robot Chicken (2013), Harper Grace in two episodes of Seven Deadly Sins (2010), Robin Noland in Mercy (2010), Melody Everett in Royal Pains (2009), Chloe in Ugly Betty (2009), Karen in One Life to Live (2008) and Janie Walker in two episodes of Guiding Light (2007).

Dreama also appeared in 2014 on the Red Carpet Report, as a guest on Watch What Happens: Live, on Big Morning Buzz Live and in 2012 on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
