Charlie Sloin is Ma’s beleaguered manager Irvin in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’

Irvin and Sturdyvant AOn stage through March 11 in the Foulds Theatre at the Alliance for the Arts is Theatre Conspiracy’s production of August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Playing the role of Ma Rainey’s beleaguered manager, Irvin, is Charlie Silon.

Charlie has been acting for many years in Connecticut, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Since relocating to Southwest Florida in 2013, he has appeared with the Cultural Arts Theatre, Naples Players, ETC Irvin, Dussie Mae and Ma BTheatre, Bonita Springs Center for the Arts Community Players and the Gulf Coast Opera/Theater Zone production of Brigadoon. Some of his favorite roles include Teyve in Fiddler on the Roof, Marryin’ Sam in L’il Abner, Willie Clark in Sunshine Boys, Weiler Martin in The Gin Game, Henry Drummond in Inherit the Wind, Joe Keller in All My Sons, and Noah in Two by Two.
