One of the feature films being screened this year by the Fort Myers Film Festival is A Case of Blue, in which a recently-retired baby boomer experiences a journey of the soul when he signs up for a life drawing class in New York City and encounters the class’s free-spirited model, who looks identical to a long-lost love from his youth. Stephen Schnetzer stars in the role of retired accountant Richard Flicker.

Schnetzer began his acting career on Guiding Light in 1952. A Case of Blue is just the latest role in a long line of television and film appearances.

His other film appearances include the 2017 drama Aardvark (Don Herremans), the 2011 short film Keys. Wallet. Phone (handsome man), the 2007 drama Ben’s Plan (2007), the 2005 dramedy Brooklyn Lobster (Mr. Hammon), the 1988 TV Movie Shattered Innocence, the 1983 TV Movie Rage of Angels and the TV Movie of The Taming of the Shrew (1976).

His television credits are extensive, but Stephen is perhaps best known for his work as Cass Winthrop in As the World Turns (28 episodes, 1999-2006) and Another World (1,088 episodes, 1982-1999) and the character of Steven Olson on Days of Our Lives (73 episodes,1978-1979). His other TV credits include two episodes as Brabantio/Julius Caesar in the TV Series The Show Must Go On (2020), an episode of Elementary (2018), an episode of Billions (2017), an episode of Blue Bloods (2017), the role of Dr. Alan Rothstein in an episode of The Path (2016), two episodes as LeRan Brousseau in the TV mini-series Flesh and Bone (2015), an episode of The Following (2015), the role of Lester Charles Conway in an episode of The Blacklist (2015), an episode of Forever (2014), two episodes of Homeland (2013), an episode of Person of Interest (2013), two episodes of Rubicon (2010), an episode of Damages (2009) and another in Fringe (2009), four episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2008), an episode of The Wire (2008), an episode of New Amsterdam (2008), two episodes of Law & Order (2006 & 2003), an episode of Prince Street (1997), The Cosby Mysteries (1994), the role of Marcello Salta in five episodes of One Life to Lead (1980-1982), and guest roles on The Love Boat (1979), Fantasy Island (1978) and Hawaii Five-O (1976)

You may have also seen Stephen as a panelist on Match Game and Hollywood Squares (1984), at the 15th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards, as a co-presenter at the 25th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, a presenter at the 11th Annual Soap Opera Digest Awards and at the 22nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.  He was also on The Another World Reunion television special in 2003.

If Schnetzer’s voice sounds familiar that’s no doubt because of his voiceover work, which includes Roc facial products, Aleve, Buitoni, and  Lexus commercials.
