October 2017 TGIM 01Thank God for Indie Mondays returns to the grand atrium of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center on October 2. That’s when hosts Eric Raddatz and Melissa DeHaven will screen a fresh set of the indie short and short short films that have been submitted for inclusion in the Fort Myers Film Festival.

While there will be celebrity judges on hand to lead the discussion after each screening, Eric and Melissa want to hear from you. What was your take on the film? What worked or didn’t work for you? What did you like or hate? And should the film be included in the film festival next March?

Your opinion matters. Your vote counts. And as often as not, the audience picks up on facets Audience Members Weigh in 03of the film that escape the attention of Eric and the judges. It’s all part of the fun of “intellectualization.”

There’s also some pretty amazing entertainment, as Eric and Melissa introduce Fort Myers audiences to some of the best talent in the area. And there’s always the opportunity to rub shoulders with Audience Participation 02filmmakers, actors and other cineastes at the after-party, where you can share an adult beverage (or two) and knosh on discounted appetizers at Twisted Vine Bistro.

This month, Downtown Diva Stephanie Davis, Dakota Jordan Peoples and Brittany Mason will serve as T.G.I.M.’s celebrity judges with legendary Al Holland providing musical eThe Audience Weighs In 03ntertainment. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the films starting at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.
