Cantrella Canady is Lady Fidget in Theatre Conspiracy’s ‘The Country Wife’

cantrellaOpening December 1 in the Foulds Theater at the Alliance for the Arts is Theatre Conspiracy’s production of William Wycherley’s The Country Wife. Directed by Karen Goldberg, the play stars Shelley Sanders as Margery, Mitch Haley as Harry Horner, Jim Yarnes as Pinchwife, Dena Galyean as Alithea, Stephen Hooper as Doctor Quack, Elvis Mortley as Sir Jasper Fidget, Cantrella Canady as Lady Fidget, Tom Marsh as Sparkish, Juan Alejandro as Harcourt, and Tera Nicole Miller as Squeamish.

​After acquiring her Associate of Arts degree at dim-kavis-bFlorida SouthWestern State College (formerly Edison State College), Cantrella transferred to Florida Gulf Coast University to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Communication where she discovered theater. She declared Theater as her minor while performing with several local theater companies in productions including The Rauschenberg Project at Lab Theater, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf (in which she played the Lady in Green), Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play, and the stage cantrella-canady-02sadaptation of Toni Morrison’s award-winning novel The Bluest Eye.  She is presently appearing in Angela Pierre and the Motown 4 at Cultural Park Theater in Cape Coral, and will be hosting “As Small As A Mustard Seed: Planting As We Grow” Benefit Dinner at The New Beginnings of SWFL in March (2017) and playing Louise in Play On! At Lab Theater in March/April.

Cantrella also currently co-hosts Destiny Radio Talk Show and is a member of the Gospel Jams Radio Show, Jam Crew. Her love of acting has inspired her advance-country-wife-photo-08to perform in several community theater productions and web skits.
