Sage Meyers part of ‘Body & Sold’ cast
Lab Theater’s production of Deborah Lake Fortson’s Body & Sold opens May 5. The play tackles some very weighty issues, including human trafficking, childhood prostitution and involuntary servitude. Among the 14-member cast that director Kathleen Moye and The Lab have assembled for the show is Sage Meyers, who plays the role of Dora Peterson.
Sage last graced the Lab Theater boards during this past December’s 24-Hour Playwriting Challenge. Prior to that, Lab Theater audiences enjoyed her in the role of Louise in last summer’s farcical tragicomedy An Empty Plate in the Café du Grand Beouf. Sage played multiple roles in The Rauschenberg Project Play, which drew attention to the adversities faced by 12-24 year old members of our LGBTQ community. Other credits include Little Shop of Horrors, Smokey Joe’s Café, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Cole Porter’s classic musical Anything Goes.
Behind the scenes, Meyers also works at The Lab as a hair stylist and makeup artist. When she’s not in the theater, you’ll find her in classes at Florida SouthWestern State College or serving caffeinated beverages at Starbucks.
