Spotlight on ‘SISTAS’ playwright Dorothy Marcic ‘Snowbird Follies’ opens Gulf Coast Symphony’s 2022-2023 theater season

Julissa Jean-Bart appears in the role of Tamika in Lab Theater’s production of SISTAS: the Musical. Lab Theater patrons are still talking about her portrayal of Nettie in Marsha Norman’s The Color Purple, which marked her Lab Theater debut. As a Lehigh Senior High School alum, she started her musical theatre journey as a speed typist in George Hill’s Thoroughly Modern Millie. Ensuing roles included
Rizzo in Grease and the lead in Aida. After completing Santa Fe College, Julissa continued her studies toward a career in medical services at Independence University online.

Tom Hall is both an amateur artist and aspiring novelist who writes art quest thrillers. He is in the final stages of completing his debut novel titled "Art Detective," a story that fictionalizes the discovery of the fabled billion-dollar Impressionist collection of Parisian art dealer Josse Bernheim-Jeune, thought by many to have perished during World War II when the collection's hiding place, Castle de Rastignac in southern France, was destroyed by the Wehrmacht in reprisal for attacks made by members of the Resistance operating in the area. A former tax attorney, Tom holds a bachelor's degree as well as both a juris doctorate and masters of laws in taxation from the University of Florida. Tom lives in Estero, Florida with his fiancee, Connie, and their four cats.
