Brendan Powers plays Torvald Helmer in Henrik Ibsen’s ‘A Doll’s House’

Opening March 1 in the Foulds Theatre at the Alliance for the Arts is Theatre Conspiracy’s production of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House. In the role of Torvald Helmer is Brendan Powers, a professional Equity Actor.

Powers has been a mainstay at Florida Rep for the past eight seasons. Select Florida Rep credits over this time include Outside Mullingar, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The House of Blue Leaves, The Mousetrap, The Cocktail Hour, A Christmas Story, The Unexpected Guest, Dividing the Estate, Around the World in 80 Days, The Fantasticks, Doubt, Opus, Boeing-Boeing, and The Glass Menagerie. Other credits include the Tony Award-winning play, Art, and The Big Knife (both with Alec Baldwin), the Noel Coward revue, Oh, Coward! at Off-Broadway’s Irish Repertory Theatre, God of Carnage, August: Osage County, Our Town, Arsenic and Old Lace, and numerous others.

TV work includes FBI Agent Rick Cranston on Graceland (USA Network), and David Weller in the Netflix original series, Bloodline (starring Sissy Spacek). He can also be seen driving the big blue Cadillac in a series of national commercials for Alabama Road Trips.

Brendan also writes humor. His cartoon captions have won various contests including The New Yorker, Hartford Courant, Denver Post, Moment Magazine, Clinical Psychology, Inside Higher Ed, and the Greensboro News-Record.

He serves as a Development Associate at Florida Rep, and is a director/producer.
