Florida premiere of ‘Let Nothing You Dismay’ opens at Lab Theater on December 6
The Florida premiere of Let Nothing You Dismay opens December 6 at The Laboratory Theater of Florida.
Set during Christmas in a hospital waiting room, this fast-paced comedy focuses on a couple about to adopt their first child… and then the entire extended family decides to make a surprise visit.
Eight talented comedic actors portray 22 different roles. The play features Amanda Collins, David Cooley, Danielle Channell, Scott Davis, Kristen Wilson, Todd Lyman, Holly Zammerilla and Ken Johnson.
“With lightning-fast costume changes, our eight actors will have you in stitches in this snazzy, new, madcap farce that, in the end, shows that family is what it’s all
about,” chuckles Artistic Director Annette Trossbach. “It’s heartfelt, wild, fast-paced fun for the whole family.”
“It’s been so fun to work on this show. It’s such a madcap, crazy, hilarious work, but also strongly heartfelt,” adds Co-Director Steven Coe. “I find that’s one of the best parts of it, and a quality I find rarely in creative pursuits. There are so many great comedies without much earnest love and so many romances that, really, needed a pie or two to the face to work. The
playwright, Topher Payne, has struck a great balance between absolute back-and-forth, crazy fast, wig-on-wig-off mad hilarity, and a really heartfelt, earnest core of love and family, and it’s an honor to bring it to the Lab.”
Joining co-directors Annette Trossbach and Steven Coe in the production are stage manager Margaret Cooley, Michael Eyth on set design, Jonathan Johnson on light and sound design and Kristen Wilson on costume design.
Let Nothing You Dismay runs December 6 through December 22.
