Play:  Which Way to the Stage

Playwright:  Ana Noguiera

Genre:  Comic drama

Synopsis: Broadway superfans Jeff and Judy eagerly wait at the stage door of the Richard Rodgers Theatre for their idol Idina Menzel to appear following her performance in If/Then in hopes of having her autograph their programs, which she failed to do the night they originally saw her performance. Both are aspiring entertainers. Judy is auditioning again for the first time after establishing a career in real estate. Jeff has developed a new drag act based on Menzel. Although united in their love of theater, both have differing views on a range of topics. Jeff thinks Judy is self-sabotaging; Judy finds Jeff’s humor to be misogynistic and appropriative of femininity. When a handsome stranger named Mark enters the scene, he upends their decades-long friendship by trying to date them both, compelling Jeff and Judy to go off-book to rewrite their own finale.
