Lab Theater bringing ‘The Eight: Reindeer Monologues’ to LabTV
The Laboratory Theater of Florida is bringing back The Eight: Reindeer Monologues.
This delightfully irreverent and audacious holiday comedy takes us to the North Pole, where scandal erupts after one of Santa’s reindeer accuses him of sexual assault. Now, it’s all about to come out, including all those rumors you’ve heard about him and the elves, not to mention Rudolph’s dirty little secret. As the media descends upon Christmas Town, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives – and believe you me,
they don’t hold back. But you get to judge for yourself whether jolly old Nick is or ain’t no saint after hearing from each of Kringle’s reindeer in this entertaining adult comedy.
As the monologues unfold, “Santa begins to look like Roger Ailes, Bill Clinton, Harvey Weinstein and the thousands of others whose abuse of their disproportionate power and the snowball effect on the lives of survivors, the people who love them and the community,” writes Kris Weber for TheatrePeople.com. “The Eight is validating and insightful theatre that
is hard to experience but proves that truth is more vital than evasion no matter how pretty the wrapping is.”
So, when a does say no, it means no. And that applies whether you’re a media or movie mogul, the president of the United States or Santa frickin’ Claus.
Due to the COVID-19
pandemic, this is now a hybrid filmed production of the traditional staged play. It can be viewed on LabTV on three dates between December 11 and December 20.
November 25, 2020.

A former tax attorney, Tom holds a bachelor's degree as well as both a juris doctorate and masters of laws in taxation from the University of Florida.
